This week I met up with Kristin several times, one of which we passed by Lambeth Cemetery and took some pictures. I confess I thought it would be creepier than it actually was. Cemeteries are nice backgrounds and, much less crowded than parks! There was a couple that seemed bit bewildered on what we were doing but overall I think it was quite a peaceful experience.

Sorry I kept the coat on, you can't really see much of the dress and jumper, but it was absolutely freezing and we had been outside for long, wandering through Wimbledon's car boot sale. Unfortunately no nice bargains this time.

Cath Kidston Cravings

Pinafore time again

I know it is a bit too much to post the same dress twice in such a short period of time, but guess what people, if you didn't notice before, I wear the same things all the time! Especially when I love them this much. After all I stalked this dress online for 3 or 4 months till I finally got it on sale. Plus, a lovely reader asked me to show pictures of this dress worn with the new black brogues and so I did. I was planning on pairing the dress with a camel silk blouse (shown here) but when I actually put it on it looked horrible, so I went back to the black top. Maybe I can wear it with a cotton beige shirt I have once I stop being lazy and iron it. Oh and I know it wasn't sunny, so why should I put a hat on? Because this one is actually great to keep the rain off of my glasses, and oh how do I hate having rain drops on my glasses...

Blue boxing day

After such busy days in the last two weeks of December (that led to me getting sick on New Years) after Christmas and on my last day in Portugal, I just wanted to be comfortable. And comfortable this winter mostly means wool jumper, ankle boots and probably jeans, so that it was. I also managed to steal my Christmas gift for my sister, a lovely soft leather satchel from ASOS, for the photos. And I must confess that, despite being the first gift I bought, I was wandering many times if I should keep it for myself. Well I didn't, but it sure looked nice in this simple look on a super sunny, yet cold, don't be fooled, day.

In Portugal the Christmas tradition is to open the presents on Christmas Eve at midnight, so, on Christmas Day, when I was deciding what to wear to go to my grandparent's house in the Portuguese countryside, almost 3 hours away by car, I knew it had to be warm and comfortable. I didn't want to give up wearing my new rust midi dress from H&M, so from that I added my sister's Christmas gift to me, the Uniqlo wool jumper, my most comfortable pair of shoes, and also more wool with the vintage scarf and beret. I had to be warm believe me, it is a place where it actually snows in Portugal (as opposed to my hometown) and I was freezing taking these pictures. Both me and my sister were happy to get back close to the fireplace after this photoshoot was over

I just reached 250 followers today, and I want to thank each and every one of you for visiting my corner in this enormous world of the internetz. So thank you! Also, if you've been around here last summer, you may remember this post? It was also at my grandparents. Same place, different season, instead of freezing cold it was sweltering heat. There's Portugal's inland for you.

On and yeah, I saw some guy on the tube with a British Museum tote and on the first occasion I went back there, I didn't rest until I found one for myself. After looking at all the gift shop, I finally found out they were at the till... It is my favourite museum in London, standing side by side with the Natural History Museum (I am a biology lover, too!).

Sweet little pinafore tweed dress

After I arrived from my first day at uni today (which went really well!) I knew I had to write a post. I had meant to do it last night but I got caught up watching the last episode of Sherlock (omg! by the way) and afterwards was too sleepy to do it. So here I was editing a bunch of pictures I had stored in my computer to put up here, meaning to show some of my Christmas+Boxing day outfits, when, after editing these much more recent ones from the weekend, I just had to go with them. I just love this dress. It had been in my wishlist for 3-4 months, practically since autumn arrived, and I couldn't not buy it during the sales! It just kept there, in the UO site, smiling at me every time I went to check it! So with its lower price I finally gave in and got it, as well as a pair of brogues! I wore it on Saturday, was going to wear it on Sunday too, but opted for another plaid dress instead, and today, after putting it back in the wardrobe, opted for another comfy skirt+jumper option for school, to wear with the said new brogues. Anyway, I resisted wearing it so many times for now, but as long as it keeps cold by this side of the world, I am sure this dress will be leaving my closet many times. And wearing it with the brogues I will totally feel like a young girl going to primary school, which is a good thing, right?

Hints of colour

In these colder months I used to have the tendency to gravitate between black and grey and ignore that all other colours existed and are fun to wear in winter too. This year though, I seem to almost never leave without something with a bit of colour in it, be it a bright red lipstick and burgundy hues in a scarf and matching socks, like in this day, or wearing my much loved Topshop red duffle coat or some bright coloured tights (with much amusement to myself noticing the lady staring at my bright yellow legs+Docs combo on the tube!). I confess I wore this only to some grocery shopping, and added the lipstick because even the double burgundy didn't seem like it was enough colour. Not that this day needed any more brightening, you can see from my squinting eyes that there were enough sun. I am really disappointed at winter this year actually, not because of the extra sun of course, but because these mild temperatures since Christmas, are making me crazy! I wanted at least one day of snow, I even got Dr Martens, as a gift, yes, but they are totally the best snow boots ever aren't they?

Fallen leaves of Hyde Park

You may notice from the leaves on the ground, again these photos are not recent. Actually I haven't taken any photos since Christmas (those are supposed to come later too). This was a happy, sunny day, when I went for the first time to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland and went ice skating with friends (no longer am I afraid to get my fingers cut by skates) and, not knowing exactly how, got convinced to go on a ride with one of said friends, to the highest ride there. Of course if you know me well, you know I am scared of such things and kept my eyes shut during most of the time. Only opening them to enjoy the superb view of a London cold night from above. Now I am convinced I need to go on ride in the London Eye, despite my heights little issue.
As for things happening now, I feel like am neglecting this little corner too much lately. I just went to Waterloo last week to have my registration for the course I'll be starting in exactly a week. I am rather excited to be in that part of town more often now, with classes and all that, but I also know that, once I start it, I will have much less free time for the next 9 months. So every day off I get I usually do nothing very productive, but very relaxing (like today, watching all episodes of Sherlock available so far). Oh well, I need to try harder and if I do get my new camera in the end of this month, I feel that I will be more motivated!

Feliz Dia de Reis! I am about to dismantle my tiny Christmas tree and decorations and thought of sharing an outfit first, while the yummy smell of my soup in the stove is filling the room. In this one I wore once again colourful socks with rolled jeans (and it's not over!) and gave my Melissa shoes a wear for a change. I love them, but my feet can only bear plastic shoes once in a while. For an extra cuteness touch I added my favourite (and only, fyi) detachable collar.

I wish I looked like this right now. These photos were taken a few weeks ago when I went with Daniela to Borough market and dropped £15 on turkish delight and baklava like it was nothing... I wish I looked like this, because I feel so beat down right now. The non stop December I had, with walking, sleepless nights, travels and more sleepless nights got me down and I started the new year with a cold. I was actually in bed little after midnight and despite starting to feel better I am upset I didn't take care of my immune system a bit better. It is all vitamin C, resting and vicks now. But don't think my year is starting badly, this week I have registration day for a post grad course I am starting in less than 2 weeks, so alas, at least something new and good is already beginning! Plus I will have a full week of holiday off work soon too, where I actually plan on not doing anything!

Happy New Year

Here are my favourite outfits of 2011, a gif is the best idea because if I had to put all these in here you would be reeeaally fed up, hehe. Though the image quality is not the best, need to find a better way of doing them,

Now lets look back on the year itself. It was one of the best and most life changing years of my life. I feel like I've grown so much. I consider myself a strong person, but a few years back I don't know if I would be able to brave into a nw country all alone, even if it was one thing I wanted to do since a long time. This year has been so satisfying and I know (or at least hope) that 2012 will be the same if not better. I have my hard times, because being way from your home and your family is not easy, but I also feel proud of myself for the way I am leading my life. Well, I leave you with the wishes of a great year, and don't forget to always have hope and try to live your days to the fullest (I also need to work on that!).

I am feeling really bad about my blog right now. I had planned several posts for his week between Christmas and New Year, meaning my favourite outfits of 2011 and the usual monthly favourites amongst other things, when my laptop got a virus just before I went home for Christmas. I thought it would be ok when I got to format it, even though I lost most of saved pictures to said posts, I thought I could do it again when I got back in the 27th during the day, despite having to work the next two nights. For my despair, I get home on Tuesday afternoon, after a very tiring last two weeks, to find a dead laptop. Nothing I wasn't expecting to happen soon, because that was still my (beloved) University times laptop, but in the worst time ever, not only blogging related, but also because I had some important things to do that required it. That said, I got really frustrated and upset. But here I am writing on a netbook I just bought today. The posts I've been planning will probably get undone or done later. Anyway, not all is bad, I am going to see The Nutcracker tomorrow evening at the O2 and rest a bit to prepare myself for the end of year and beggining of next one working two days and two nights in a row.
But lets stop rambling, can't wait to actually have time to settle and read all about your Christmasses in your blogs! And to rest of course...

It's winter now, and everybody knows that parks and forests are more enjoyable in the spring, summer and autumn. Winter is just so naked, almost with no colour. Though that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful in its own way. The contrast of the always so green grass and grey tree branches is a bit funny, but I like it. I am not going to lie and say that I like these less, but same park, pretty images in different ways. I definitely need to come here more often to take pictures, have to stop being lazy just posing in my balcony.

Santa Claus Got Stuck In My Chimney

Most of the Christmas gifts for my family. How am I going to carry this all in a suitcase without fear of ruining the packages? :| The m&m's bag is for my little cousin, who is turning 4 and loves pink, so I thought a bag of pink m&m's would be deliriously fun for her, I think she'll love it. Don't worry, she doesn't know I have a blog, haha.
Isn't my tiny Christmas tree cute? I didn't have much space for a big one so I got this and think it is so perfect! It is from poundland and cost only £1 (as all in there). The silver and blue baubles, glass angels and lights are also from there. The Santa Claus and Nativity are from Tiger.

PS: You can see how long ago these pictures were taken since my Advent Calender only had eaten 3 chocolates, now it's only 9 days till Christmas!! :D

DIY, your own Christmas bunting

I did this Christmas bunting the other week and since it was such a cheap and easy thing to do, I felt it would be nice to share it with you so you can make your own if you wish. I got the felt sheets from Tiger (£3) and the ribbon from Tiger as well (£1). The total cost must be around £2 since I didn't use all the colours or sheets, then I can use them to other diy's, and the ribbon was also used for revamping a pair of shoes and there is still some I can use later too.
So, follow the steps and start doing your own bunting! I am sure I will do another one with different colours and maybe smaller triangles some time soon.

What I haven't been wearing these days

I still have so many outfit pictures to post here and some non outfit posts prepared too. I am seeing Christmas getting closer and closer and I didn't show you my mini Christmas tree or a Christmas DIY that I want to share with you guys. That will definitely stay for later because these pictures are still from early November. I know. Because I am not crazy enough to be walking around London just wearing a leather jacket, my red wool duffel coat and black wool+cashmere coat are the ones that don't leave my body outside. (Not judging the ones wearing t-shirts even if it's like 3ºC outside, though). I am working nights this weekend (going to the last one in less than 2h) and I saw ice on the ground outside the hospital this morning. Are you coming soon, snow? I would love you to come after my sister and aunt get here (less than a a week, hooray!) and I would love you to leave before I need to fly home for Christmas :) Am I asking too much?

Little Red Riding Hood goes to Greenwhich

This is another set of pictures from when my boyfriend visited, and we went to Greenwich to spend the day. It was raining on and off that day, hence the hood, though it was still quite a lovely day. What is not to like when you're with your other half, in a beautiful place seeing nice things and eating well (did I mention I love food?).

Well and I can't tell you enough how I am in love with this coat, it was the best purchase of the year, it's so pretty and warm, very handy with its pockets to put things and keep my hand warm, and the hood protects me from cold and rain! It is also in my favourite colour to wear. I wore it today (again) and felt quite a Mrs. Claus because I finished my Christmas shopping wearing it, hehe. Well, at least I have my lovely coat and being done with Christmas shopping to keep me happy, because I am currently on a tonsil war (as every winter the tonsillitis attacks me) and had to stock up on pills, strepsils and honey to see if I can get rid of it!

Jardin des Tuileries

The outfit I wore on my third and last day in Paris is finally posted. I got my boyfriend to take pictures of me at Jardin des Tuileries on our way to the Louvre. When we left the Louvre, which was amazing btw, I must say if felt like I was going through the Hyde Park of Paris. The sun was finally out and people were chilling in the the green metal chairs relaxed getting some sun on their faces. A lovely sight I assure you.

On another subject, I intended to visit the Kate Kanzier store today, to spend my voucher and take advantage of the 15% off they are having till tomorrow, but I woke up late and decided to stay home relaxing with tea and studying a little bit. But if you can go there today (they're open till 18:30) or tomorrow, get yourself some goodies with a discount. I can't, since I'll be working Friday and Saturday, but may pop there on Monday and see if I can choose between these or these. On Sunday I am planning on going to December's Secret Sample Sale on Brick Lane. What about you? Any exciting plans for the weekend?

We all know how jumping shots are getting very common in the blogosphere, even though calivintage was the one starting this trend, I really like to see some occasional jumping shots of my favourite bloggers. In this case, the idea didn't come from me. I never thought my camera was good enough (and still don't think it is) but as I was on top of that bench in picture 6, my boyfriend said "jump!" and after a couple of tries we came up with the last one, which I actually like!
This is an odd combination of colours for me, but I think it works. I never thought of putting a greenish jumper (which is so so soft!) with a brownish skirt and every thing in else in black. Oh and what about my little friend butterfly, isn't it cute? I got it from the Wimbledon car boot sale.

An empty Camden Town

When my boyfriend was still here, we visited Camden Town one day so early that I could actually walk freely in the narrow stable streets and found most stables closed! We even had to wait to get breakfast but it was a good day to take pictures of the places without people getting in the way, wouldn't it be foggy and the pictures would have actually been great, haha. I definitely need a new camera, which may be happening soon, maybe after Christmas!

So, finally I filmed myself answering the questions that you asked here! It was really weird doing it I must warn you and I had no idea I was twitching my nose while talking! haha! The sound is really low, due to having a camera not suitable for recording videos, so make sure you put the video and your computer sound on max.

Oxford's Botanic Garden

I couple of weeks ago I went to Oxford with my boyfriend and Daniela to visit a friend of ours that recently came from Portugal to live there. We visited the city during the day (which is really nice), including the Botanic Garden, where these pictures were taken. In the evening we went to the funfair in the huge park and waited for the fireworks and enormous fire behind a wicker man, it was Bonfire night! It was such a cold but lovely day! Seeing new places, being with people you like and spending a nice time, what is better than that?

Patriotic in Paris

This is what I wore at our first day in Paris, you saw some peeks of if in the Paris post, but here's the full outfit. Seriously the most comfy thing to wear while travelling, a (warm) jersey skirt, knitwear and boots, and a cute wool scarf and beret to keep me warm. Also, I was feeling quite patriotic with this outfit that day, after looking at pictures of me, the colours of the Portuguese flag are red, green and yellow!

I've been neglecting my previously very used Zara satchel to have my Kate Kanzier bag on my shoulder or arms all the time! I am very happy to have been featured as one of the style winners of the month of November, along with Cat. I got a £20 voucher yesterday in the mail and I know exactly what I will be getting with it next week ;)

Looking down, looking sideways

I just noticed I am not once looking at the camera in these pictures. Looking down or to the side is all I was up to do here, it seems. It is funny how those are typically style blogger pictures... Looks like the shoes I am wearing have a lot going on for me to stare at them. I don't know about you, if you do it, but I feel a bit awkward at staring at a tripod. But sometimes, I feel even more awkward when people are taking my blog pictures.

La Ville-Lumière

As promised, here are "some" of my many of pictures from Paris. I warn you this is going to be picture overload. I thought of separating them into several posts but I tried that with my Barcelona trip back in 2009 and didn't manage to finish! So I think an overload is preferred. I separated them by areas/places instead of days because I went to some places more than once, and since the weather was pretty miserable in the first two days all the better pictures are from the last one.

Eurostar/Gare du Nord

Travelling with the Eurostar, couldn't recommend it more, wouldn't the train be my favourite mean of transportation.

Montmartre

The Hostel we stayed in, in Montmartre, just outside the metro station Anvers. With this magnificent view:

... La Básilique du Sacré Coeur in between buildings.

Worth climbing the many stairs, or taking the funiculaire up, even if you're not catholic...

...even if just for the views (and you can see how the weather resembled more of London than anything else).

And Le Moulin Rouge also definitely worth a visit, especially at night.

Place du Tertre, where you can admire artists painting and drawing, and expect being harassed by them to draw you or paint you. You can also see a lovely peak of the Sacré Coeur again.

And one more pretty view from the Montmartre hill.

Notre Dame de Paris

The gargoyles looked as real as in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

And very worth climbing the many stairs to see the views.

Tour Eiffel

No words needed. The most imposing monument in Paris. Definitely worth the almost one hour of waiting in the cold and rain to go up (by lift of course, the line for going up by stairs was much shorter but I think those people must have a little bit of craziness, or it is just the vertigo bound me judging?) Go up by day to see the amazing views and see it from the Trocadéro by night and if you're lucky like me you'll see the flashing lights too!

Le Marais

Definitely one of the areas that I enjoyed the most and loved to "get lost" in. You can see trendy streets, the Hotel de Ville which is the city's council, and many squares and nice places to eat and enjoy doing some people watching.

Avenue des Champs Élysées

L'Arc du Triómphe, worth climbing all the stairs, like Notre Dame, to get again breathtaking views.

And of course a visit to Ladurée couldn't be missed (my poor boyfriend had to go back all of the avenue so I could buy a box!).

Musée du Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries

The Louvre, another place with no need for explanation. Go there!

Sunny Jardin des Tuileries seemed to be the Hyde Park of Paris.

Done with the picture overload, I hope you enjoyed them though. I just have to say that I loved the city even if I was a bit unamused with what is typically London weather, fortunately the sun decided to show up in our last day and made it much more pleasant. One piece of advice, if you're an EU citizen and under 24-26 go there now! You can enter Notre Dame and Arc du Triómphe for free and have a discount on the Eiffel Tower. Also, don't be too worried on seeing things, just enjoy them and eat well, the food is a great deal and me, as a girl who likes her food, liked a lot to stop and eat and drink!

These weren't the only things I saw, but as many were visited when it was dark the pictures were getting so terrible that I stopped trying to take pictures, and of course these so many already and were hard to choose from the more than 400 we took! Though next time I go there I hope to have a DSLR in my hands, cross your fingers!

Oh, another thing, I didn't wear the berets only because I was in Paris, I wear them whenever it is really cold, which it was, and I got a few more berets for my collection there. Most of my outfit shots that I have yet to post, not only from Paris, have berets, they're the best to keep my head warm!

Three

I am finally back from Paris, and being there made me miss the 3rd blogiversary of Black Sheep. I am happy I did though, I came back super tired but looking forward to go back, Paris is magic (even if it was grey and raining 2/3 of the time).

But well, 8th of November is the date that marks 3 years of this blog. It has changed a lot during these years, with more regular and more irregular posting, but the best is that it accompanied me through a lot of my life. From bad things to the best ones. Last year when I was writing it did I know I'd be living alone in London? Of course not. Life changes by the second and I am just happy that, despite this being a personal blog, it is also a journal that can take me back to past memories. I also want to thank the people that read it and show my appreciation for that, so I am going to do a giveaway soon, do expect it.

Red riding hood

So this was the debut of wear of my lovely red duffle coat from Topshop, and also the debut of it here on the blog! It hasn't been that cold to justify wearing a long wool coat very often over here, but this particular day was quite rainy (hence inside pictures) and I couldn't resist to wear it and mixing it with my new thrifted wool plaid scarf and new AA trousers (scored at the AA Flea Market in Brick Lane) and my new jazz shoes. Oh well I am only wearing an old jumper here, but I still love you, you're stripped!

I am going to Paris tomorrow, any recommendations? I would love to hear them!

Happy November to you all, I had a very busy start for this month, and, once again, my monthly favourites come late! They're here now though, and I hope they inspire you as much as I am. I am finding it hard to type these words right now, as a result of a sleep depriving week behind, not enough rest due to working nights, being a tourist in London again since my boyfriend is here (hooray!), and partying in Halloween (I was a sailor, what about you?). And the next days will be busy again, on strolling/being a tourist only now since I am having annual leave (hooray again! I am going to Paris next week :D ). Ok, need to stop typing, sleep now!!

To Wimbledon car boot sale

I have a friend living in Wimbledon and met her a last week so we could go to the Wimbledon car boot sale. I didn't expect it to be so big on a Wednesday, but it was! Anything you can remember existing was there. Here are some pictures I took on that day, on my way and in the actual car boot sale. I bought a few lovely things, that are not pictured, and I am looking forward to go back sometime soon. The Battersea car boot sale is cheaper than this one though, but here you can find some great bargains, you just have to dig harder! I got a brand new iPod shuffle in box for £15, couldn't believe it when I spotted it, and I think I could have gotten it cheaper if I wasn't so blown away for actually finding it so cheap already, the old man had no idea what he was selling. I got also some other things, including a cyclamen plant for my flat and other things I will give as presents.

I don't really understand why, but lately I have been obsessing about backpacks, black backpacks to be more specific. I really really like three brands but the lookbook from Herschel really got my eye. Not only I love the Setlement, the Pop Quiz and the Heritage backpacks, but their lookbook is really something to drool at. Beautiful pictures with backpacks (of course), knitwear, plaid and amazing settings. There's nothing not to love here. I posted some of the lookbook pictures on my tumblr a while back but couldn't not share these with you here too.

Five facts

When I started "style blogging", almost 3 years ago, tags and awards were super common and practically every week you'd see someone posting it. It became so common that people stopped doing it, or maybe a bit fed up too. But when someone that writes a blog that you love tags you/gives you an award it always feel good isn't it? And that's what happened, I really felt happy when Cat, of Take Courage, did it to me! The Versatile Blogger Award for being a blog which she admires, respects and likes. I am sure I forgot about awards that people gave me (I'm sorry about that) but Cat's just came at a time when I started thinking this blog is too much about me. In the past I would not only post about outfits, inspiration or wish lists, but sometimes about my days and things I did, and that's the way I want to take it to from now on too. A little bit more life seems right doesn't it? Of course my life is not that interesting all the time, but in the next few weeks it'll be a bit different (my boyfriend is coming to visit and we're going on a small trip to Paris!)

Anway, thank you again Cat for the Versatile Blogger Award, for the shout out (your plaid dress is amazing!) and for considering me someone to be inspired by! I really appreciate it. Take a look at her lovely blog, Take Courage, people!

Now, when you get the Versatile Blogger Award, you are supposed to share with your readers some facts about you which they might not already know. So here it goes...

1 - When I was an early teen I started thinking about moving to the UK when becoming older. That idea hid from my mind during my university times, and only came back when I finished my degree. Now that I am actually here, I still have these "wow" moments when I think "I am actually doing this!".

2 - Autumn comes and, if you did not notice it before, I obsess over knitwear, this year is all about jumpers. I have acquired quite a few and still fall in love with more! Although the running out of space for them in the closet made me slow down. (See one of the recent knitwear acquisitions in the outfit above.)

3 - I work in a Neonatal unit. Seeing babies every shift is really nice and they're a lot easier to deal with than adults, I assure you. But this has its downs, for once it brings up peoples maternal instinct, but at the same time, when you get those babies who wont settle and just want cuddles every minute it just puts the idea of having your own baby put down for far away in time.

4 - I have been asked several times, from various people, if I am an American or why do I have an American accent. I always tell that I learned English mostly by myself, just reading books and seeing a lot of American series and films, so I guess that's why. I have an idea for a video post, so you can actually hear me, but I have to ask you something first. Soon...

5 - My favourite mean of transportation is the train, I really like it. There's just something peaceful and romantic about the idea of travelling on a train, not that that is the reality sometimes. That said, I can't wait to go to on the Eurostar for the first time when I go to Paris in a few weeks!

I don't usually pass these to people any more because I don't know who to choose from! But I am going to pass this award to Emily, of Resplendent Tranquility. She was here when I started, and I kept reading her blog ever since. She definitely deserves it because she is a girl that I "admire, respect and like" how the award says.

Some things I have been loving these days.
I am definitely getting the Golden Ponies patent brogue since I have been looking for a pair just like that for a while. Do any of you own something from Gold Ponies? All I've been reading is good but a few more opinions would not hurt! These are so beautiful too!
The burgundy Uniqlo jumper is also on top of my wishlist, but I have stocked on so much knitwear these past few weeks that I don't think I can justify getting it, at least not right now.

I said recently I don't wear the lovely items in my closet enough, and this is a dress that gets neglected as well. Which is a shame since it is one of my favourites! Despite being cotton, and therefore good to wear every season, I seem to just notice it when autumn comes. It's maybe the plaid, that I mostly associate with autumn/winter too, or maybe the dark green, yet again another thing I gravitate to during these seasons... The pendent is a silver vintage piece that used to be from a pair of earrings my mom had but got broken, I then thought how even better it would look on a silver necklace so here I am wearing it.
And I just have to share this: I went to Oxford St. on Friday, the day of these pictures, just to take a walk, not intending to buy anything special, I have stocked on enough knitwear to even think of getting anything else... But then I went to H&M on Regent St. and couldn't leave without the perfect white lace dress, this orange shift dress and a pair of ankle jeans. Can you imagine that I got each for only £5? So if you're in London pop up to the H&M on Regent St. asap, since it has more items and they're cheaper than either the website and the other H&M stores (at least those dresses costed £10 each at H&M Oxford St).

These pictures are not that great. And I really dislike inside pictures at night, when compared to outside pictures during the day. But I really liked this outfit so here I am showing it.
This day I was talking to my aunt on Skype and she asked about my shirt. I said I got it off eBay for £4 and it's a man's shirt and she made me laugh with this: "You and your mania of wearing man's clothes..." And she's right, I like wearing my boyfriend's shirts and jumpers and I do own a few man's clothes myself! That doesn't make me feel less like a woman though ;)

I decided to take advantage of the pretty sunlight that was shining on my flat yesterday to take these pictures. Here you have a little peek of it, my bed and the closet, and you can see me wearing an outfit that contains some of my obsessions. Yes, knitwear and stripes, will I ever be over that? I hope not. But lets talk about the flat. It is a studio, and a pretty decent one for London, some of you may know what I am blabbing about here, and some won't, but I've seen some very scary (and expensive!) stuff while house-hunting, and was very lucky to get this one! It is just the right size for me and I feel really cosy in it. I may show a little bit more of it if you would like to, so please say so, if you do! I am still looking for some things to make it more "home-y" but I don't know how long I'll be here so I am always a bit hesitant to get a lot of things.

The title of this post pretty much describes the pictures and the outfit portrayed by them. Nothing too original, I am aware, but I am not feeling very inspired anyway. These boots were one of the best purchases I ever made, with a 90% discount via TKMaxx. And mentioning TKMaxx, the other day I went there to buy a potato masher (had cravings for mash, what can I say?), and the man at the counter actually asked for my ID. First I had no idea that a potato masher could be considered a weapon (?) but then I was actually sort of flattered when he wouldn't believe I am actually 24 and had to do the calculations with my DOB, in order to sell me the thing.
Almost a year after getting this shirt I am actually wearing it more often, twice in the same week is much better than maybe twice in a year. This must only say I must start wearing things more often instead of wearing the same things over and over, as I do.

This heat wave, or Indian Summer, as you want to call it, seems to be finally starting to fade. The sky was much more gray today and the temperatures dropped. I must sound like The Grinch for most people, but I am too excited for Autumn, Winter and layering to actually be happy about 29ºC degrees temperature with at least 50% humidity...
These pictures are not from today, they are pre my last haircut (I think, at least it's much longer now) and pre heat wave, so as you can see, I didn't get to take advantage of the sun to actually take pictures, it was too hot! This top was actually Emily's, and she left it behind after staying with me. I was supposed to donate it to charity but decided to keep it. One can never have to many stripped tops! ( Emily, if you want it back, come and get it! I'm waiting for a visit ;) )
Oh, and I just realized that we are in October now (yay!) and I totally forgot to do my monthly outfit favourites for September, will try to do it for next post!

Today was the hottest day that I've experienced in London since April! It was so sunny and warm that I even was wandering if I hadn't been back to Portugal again... So I took the chance of it being really sunny, and ignored that it was too warm for tights or a wool beret, and went to take some pictures at the Scrubs Lane, the park that I mentioned is really close to my flat, and it's just behind my workplace! It is huge, and quiet during the week, so perfect for outfit-picture-taking. And although a few people passed and looked at what I was doing, that didn't bother me at all so I'm sure to be back, at least when it's sunny. I also wander if it is called scrubs park because it is just behind a hospital...
I just said it was the warmest day in September, but I couldn't help to get that topshop coat that was in my previous post. Oh well, I'll be prepared for the supposed cold front that'll be coming in October! (Who am I kidding? I just couldn't help to buy it in case it would sell out quickly! It's the perfect winter coat!!)

I know I know, autumn just started... but I have been daydreaming about cosy jumpers and winter coats. I can't help it! I love every season of the year, each at its own time, but I have found myself longing for winter this year, I even was singing Christmas songs at work the other day (night shift, trying not to fall asleep...) so it all suggests I will love winter this year. It is going to be my first one in London, and I got really excited reading in the paper that a cold front is coming to the UK in October, some snowfall may even occur! One of my friends just rolled eyes and said it is clearly my first winter here, haha.

So here are some of the things I have been wishing for, from warm woolly jumpers to water and snow proof boots and the most perfect winter red coat ever,hopefully I will get most of these items! And you may find strange to see a pair of super heeled mary janes in a winter wishlist, but these would be perfect for my work's Christmas dinner in December... See? I am longing for everything of winter!

PS: And it's not been that cold here so far, "unfortunately".

Like I said in my last post I went to Portugal last weekend to attend my baby sister's baptism and this is what I wore, I got the dress from a sample sale in Brick Lane a few weeks ago and was a happy accident that I found the sale! And I had to get to the end of Summer to find the perfect white dress, but still when I tried it on knew it would be perfect for that occasion. I have been the worst blogger ever, I acknowledge that, I haven't been reading blogs or commenting or even writing posts, but a lot of things are blameable if I may say. First I still have no internet at my flat, and whenever I go online at my friend's house I usually only have time to talk to family and friends, read e-mails and occasionally check my tumblr. Then I went to Portugal in a flash visit for a family thing and consumed a lot of time with travelling. While travelling I got sick (still am a little bit) and with all that, this was my first free day and still I had things to do!
Well, enough rambling, here you can see my balcony! It's not big but well enough to have my tea or milk in the morning and to get a bit of fresh hair. And I can take pictures in it :D Although behind my place there's a huge park, that I'll try to take my tripod for a walk and shoot some pictures there.

In this day, last week, I had a free haircut at the Sassoon Academy thanks to my friend Dani (who takes some of my outfit pictures). She booked an appointment there to try it out, after all 5 pound haircuts for nurses are not to be missed, especially when at the Sassoon Academies! I know it is a school, but a very good one. And I admit I didn't have very high expectations when she asked me to accompany her, we were supposed to do some shopping after as well, and I was actually curious to see how it was. Then when I was there with her they kept confusing me with one of their models (yes, that's how they call people who go there to have their hair cut by students), despite me saying several times I was just accompanying a friend and didn't need a haircut, after all I cut my hair in June, and 3 months is too little time for someone who is used to have a haircut only once a year! But they had one extra student and no model, so when they offered me a free one and promised they wouldn't take any length, I went for it. Well, since my hair is quite hard to deal with, especially for stylists with little experience, the teacher did most of it, and boy, half the weight disappeared! So I was very happy with the result. And even happier because he said my hair was amazingly beautiful and healthy (*blushes here*). I think it was the first time a hair stylist said good things about my hair so also, but not only, because of that, I would definitely recommend it :D If you're patient and do not mind a 3h hair cut. You can know more about it here. And despite never trying the actual Sassoon salons, I am very willing to, once my hair gets bigger again.
Oh and yes, this is what I wore that day and these are pictures after haircut. This is another frequent outfit of mine: jeans, flowy top, easy shoes and denim shirt! And I finally wore this top out and didn't mind showing my bra. Just a quick outfit post with fewer pictures than usual (nothing wrong about that though! right?). I worked today and it was reallyyyyyy hard getting out of bed at 6h30 (I start at 7h30 when working days) and only have the mind on eating and resting so that tomorrow I can go to Brick Lane! Gosh I miss going there... So hence the not much writing.

August's favourites don't really tell what August means to me, or at least what it used to mean. Since a little kid I remember it being the hottest month of the year, but not this one. I've had pretty much a August that looks more like a September or even October weather wise, and I will not lie, I don't really mind. Keep those layers coming! So it is not surprising that some of these are layered outfits as well! Here are August's favourite's. This month I haven't had much time for blogging, and I feel a little bit bad, but you all know that life gets in the way, and tomorrow I'll be moving house so even less time will all the moving, tidying and storing. But once I'm again settled I may have a thing to ask you :)

This is what I wore today, as to recreate my Thursday outfit that I wore to go to Selfridges to check out their opening of the new H&M corner, get free yummy food and buy a couple of autumn things :) I can honestly say that this has been my current uniform. No I don't wear this to work (there I wear some shapeless scrubs) but I've been wearing it to go to work and in days off as well, constantly. There's just something so appealing to me right now in putting a pair of ankle grazer jeans (although they are supposed to be capris on "normal" height people they're ankle grazers for me ok? and by the way, ankle grazers are full lenght on me *.*), a stripped top (I've been stocking them up) and black ballerinas with a pearl necklace and a mac. I feel so Parisian, though very suited for unstable London weather.
I actually took pictures on a lovely park behind my work and house with the most beautiful setting and light just in a little open sky break on Thursday, but my SD card decided to get a virus today when I was trying to extract those and other outfit pictures that had to be deleted in order to the card to start functioning again :( I am so so sad, not only because the location and light were so much better, but because I actually had nice looking hair and face on those pictures.

I miss the sun

It is a bit unfair to say that London has no sun, it has, though anyone who has been in southern Europe and in London can't deny that it feels different. The light is just different. Well I am no person to dislike rain, today it poured and I got soaked but I still love London (I kept singing "I'm only happy when it rains" hehe), but sometimes the Portuguese sun just makes me nostalgic, especially when looking at pictures like these, such a bright and warm light!
Although it was very rainy, the temperature was nice, but I am actually longing for Autumn! I have a few new clothes and hats (yay) that can't wait to be worn.

Today is my 24th birthday and I am never overly excited about my birthday because, since I was little I never had too fussy birthdays. It being in the middle of August made everyone being in summer vacation so I got used to having a quiet day. But it is my first birthday away from either my family or my boyfriend and I'll have another no fuss day. Although I am in London, so the plan is to check the new recently open Forever 21 on Oxford Street and a dinner with friends later (if I can eat something from a restaurant, because I've been stomach sick these past few days but I'm starting to feel better).
Anyway, I thought of sharing with you some pictures of little me. The plan was to find a birthday one but I couldn't find none. They are in chronological order and, as you can see, since little I was already into peter pan collars, flower print dresses, hats, red shoes and star prints... Oh and yes, people used to think I was a boy till I was about 1 year and a half, haha!

I meant to take my tripod there quite some times because the setting is quite pretty (and in the middle of a city), but never did it till then, that is, the week before I left. I think getting a white t-shirt with a blue vintage skirt and having olive trees in the background is something quite lovely!

I told you that this skirt would pop up soon so you could see the pattern a little better (can you?). And it was a bliss having found this in my gran's closet since I wore practically every week since getting it. Well not here any more in London, I've been living in jeans (meeh), because it's been work work work leltely, but once it slows down a bit more (after moving house, still looking for one though....) I will try and dress a bit more me and take some pictures. Not that London is a great area to go explore and find nice places right now. I am sure you heard about the riots... Scary thought but I am glad I didn't actually see anything with my own eyes. Hope you people are safe in London and all over the UK where it is/was also happening. My feel about this situation, it's absolutely ridiculous.

It is funny that even taking pictures with friends, in this case at my friend's wedding that I mentioned here, I still do my "blog poses". Notice the head down or the heel up? Yup, don't we all know this is blogger typical?
Well I had a lot of fun last weekend. The wedding was simple, yet very beautiful, just in the style of the bride! It was great moment and I'm happy she shared it with us. And it was also amazing because I got to be with University friends that I haven't seen for a long time and catch up!

Fun fair

A couple of weeks ago I went to the fun fair with my aunt and sister. Well, I am a no adrenaline person, since I don't deal with it very well, but here are some pictures I took, and that were taken of me too. I usually don't like my camera's night pictures but these turned out quite ok so I hope you enjoy them.

We started the fair with cotton candy but I only took some pictures of the lollipops and popcorn on that stall.

This looked beautiful but a bit unsafe too.

Then we spotted the Kanguru (Kangaroo, in english), see those people? They're jumping up and down, fast!

Well, then I went on it to accompany my sister...

... And got out with a weird face. I told you I don't deal well with adrenaline!

Lastly I show you a picture of the Matterhorn, the scariest of them all in my opinion. I went on it in my freshman year of uni (because my boyfriend and friends were all excited about it) and swore I would never do it again. I came out really white and sweaty and feeling so very sick I almost puked, uh. See those capsules? They go back and forward and bounce to the sides, taking up a max speed of circa 100km/h... Terrifying.

This is another set of pictures from my weekend at my grandparents (when I raided my grandma's vintage stuff, hehe) and I couldn't stop getting pictures in their beautiful gardens (yes, they have more than one!). This dress was a charity shop find and it is so beautiful that I can't almost believe it is from Primark! Well the truth is that Primark has some pretty and good stuff, you only have to be willing to look for it :)

I don't know if I mentioned this before but, if you don't know yet, I am a Harry Potter fan. Because of the books of course, I've been reading them since I was 12. But I got hooked in the films too, and I can say I cried in this last one, it was really good. I can never compare them to the books because I would hate them then, but it was really nice to actually see all the magic world. I saw it earlier this week and it was so worth paying the extra to see it in 3D (despite me getting a headache). Oh and speaking of that, does any one know why the 3D films are more expensive? I thought it was because of the glasses but my sister had hers and it they only deducted 50cents from her ticket... ?

Flashback: Sailor Moon

Due to some event on Facebook a while back I got to remember the cartoons/anime shows that marked my childhood, and the first I immediately thought was Sailor Moon! It was on tv when Portugal didn't even have cable tv and the episodes aired at 7h30 am on weekends! And yes, I would get up that early only to watch them! Usagi(in Japan)/Bunny(in Portugal) aka Sailor Moon, was a bit annoying with all her wining and passion for the Tuxedo Mask! But all the characters were funny. It is the show that brings me more memories, I was more or less 7 years old when started watching it and as of now, being 23, almost 24, it still is my favourite anime series! Now I am thinking of getting myself the whole series on DVD (200episodes).

Now onto the style! I could totally see myself wearing some Sailor Moon inspired outfits. The clothes and school uniforms they wear are amazing, but also their "after-transformation" looks (that are shorter versions of the school uniforms). Here are some pictures to revive to good old days of childhood, so very nautical! They're sailors after all...

In the country with a pink hat

When I went to my grandparent's house in the country last weekend I knew I had to take some pictures in the attic's balcony. Despite practically no one ever going there, it has the best view of their house and the blue sky and olive trees look like a charming background to me. I didn't spend much time taking these with my tripod and self timer because it was really really hot up there and I got all blushed here (see my cheeks?). It is a shame I couldn't capture more of that natural beauty. I am a city girl, but some time in the country relaxes me a lot.

This blouse is one of the things I brought back with me, after raiding my grandma's closets. It is darling, don't you agree? I just realized yesterday night that I am going through a white/cream/beige hues phase right now, but that's matter for another post...

The hat is just a prop, since it obviously didn't fit me :( it was my cousin's and I had a few like that when I was little that disappeared (that obviously wouldn't fit me either).

I spent months and months searching for the perfect floppy hat, only to find hats that were either pretty but too expensive or had some kind of flaw, but on my trip to Aveiro a couple of weeks ago I finally found one, unexpectedly, at an accessories store. Made.Me.Happy :)
This top is from H&M and was at the lingerie/pj's section but no way I would not wear this outside, you can't see much but it is embroidered in the small pocket. And it is so simple and amazing. It's the same one from the last post in the second polyvore set!

This summer I've been really into simplicity. Well with hot days I don't want to wear much, I absolutely forget about layers and accessories (especially rings and bracelets). And the truth is I'm into a less is more mood lately, so I put together some polyvore sets based on primary colours, white, gingham, espadrilles and plimsolls, which are some of my current obsessions ;)
I actually have the white top and my sister has the skirt from the second set (they're H&M) but I would love to have that R shape dear tote bag, how amazing is it?
Anyway, looking at these sets makes me want to run to the French Riviera to spend some summer days sipping cocktails and reading a good book.

You may remember this blouse, I showed it here, here and here before. And I had the idea that is was my grandma's but in fact it was my mom's! It was handmade like this one, and I got to alter its buttons too. I liked the previous ones, they were heart shaped, but they were a bit damaged so I decided to sew some round black buttons to give it a simpler look. I think it looks better now, what do you think?
As much as I like wearing colours in summer, bright or even pastel, the simplicity gets on me and I wanted to extend this simplicity to my clothes colours and wear only black and white. The only coloured thing in me is the mint nail polish in my toenails but it doesn't count, shhhh ;)

Thinking the weather would be cool enough, I put on these pieces that are a bit heavier/thicker than my usual clothes these days. Of course, even if it was gloomy, it was one of those bipolar weather days when the temperature is floating between cool and hot and I got to feel both a bit cold and too hot. I did't worry much though since I want to give this denim shirt the wear it deserves (it's been too unworn so far) and I missed this basic black skirt so here it is.

Saturday roadtrip

Last Saturday, me and my family (minus my sister who has exams to study to) went on a little roadtrip to an hour-away-city, Aveiro. It is a lovely place, called the "Portuguese Venice" by some, where I've been going to since I was little, famous for its ovos moles (typical sweet made with eggs) and its canal. I got some pictures of the canal, but sadly, the ovos moles were too good and were devoured before I remembered photographing them. After a city stroll, lunch and some shopping (I got the matryoshka pin from last post and finally a lovely floppy hat!) we headed down south again, but this time through the coast, stopping in a lovely beach called Areão. Unfortunately we didn't think the weather would be as sunny and hot as it was that day and didn't bring any swimwear, because the beach was amazing, believe me.

Purple and yellow. Do you find it an odd colour combination to celebrate the 4th of July? Well, I do love the red-blue-white colour combo, but I am neither American nor living in America. The fact is, the 4th of July is also my city's holiday, so what better way to celebrate it than to wear its own colours? I do love yellow, but I am not a fan of purple (though I have purple things) and I am not a fan of the drop waist dress style (in me), but oddly enough, I do like this outfit! Call me a creep. So whether you're celebrating Independence day in the US, Coimbra's day in Portugal, anything else or nothing at all, I wish you a happy 4th of July!

This dress has become one of my favourites for summer. Even though it has a high neckline, which may seem unbreathable, it is a size too big on me and a lightweight viscose so it is very comfortable to wear. Well worth the £2 I paid for it at a charity shop, if you ask me.
My hair isn't like this any more, if you follow me on twitter, you may already know I went for another haircut. After too much complaining on the haircut I got a few weeks ago, that wasn't really what I wanted. Now it's more or less shoulder length and much less layered, just like I wanted. You'll see it in a few posts. The hairdresser was a bit shocked since I cut a lot in the first appointment and now a bit more. Usually long haired girls hate cutting it but I really wanted a change, and it's only hair, it grows back! Also it's much more bearable in this heat I've been going through.

Heat Of The Moment

I would probably never thought of wearing this outfit before with no top underneath the blouse since it is see-through, especially if I was out (which I wasn't by the way). But when having temperatures reaching almost 40ºC this day, even wearing a bra was annoying. It is "interesting" how I don't really mind posting these on the internet, even if you can't really see much, but I would probably not go out to anywhere like this. Regardless of that, I love this blouse for many reasons and I wanted to wear it so I did. Want to know why I love it so much? First, it was my mother's and handmade by her. Second, she sewed me one exactly the same, only smaller, that I remember perfectly wearing in the summer when I was about 6 or 7. Third, it has tiny polkadots. Fourth, it is white. And, finally, fifth, it buttons up in the back! I found it recently with no buttons and took me a bit to choose some buttons to sew on it but I ended up with pearly ones. It is now one of my most treasured items!

Oh, and excuse me, I'm showing another wrinkly blouse. I should have ironed it, but I assure you it didn't seem that wrinkly. And you're also seeing my latest uniform while at home, which has been a lot. I have been wearing nothing but these shorts and loose tops, blame the heat!

Now that I see these photos, this would be even more "Americana" channelling outfit it I was wearing some jeans instead of a skirt. And that's what my sister, the owner of 2/3 of the things I'm wearing, would probably wear since she's definitely a jeans girl. But I had to add at least one girly touch to this so hence the skirt. And speaking about it, I will probably feature it in a "remix" post sometime soon, since I've worn quite a lot.

On another note, this is such a simple outfit. A good example how in real life we don't dress, or at least I, with too much going on every single day. Half the time I'm definitely a minimalist. And especially in this heat in Portugal, now all I seem to want to wear is a super light dress and sandals with my hair up!

Hello Summer

These past few days have been quite hot, I don't even feel like leaving the house until 7pm or I'll melt. And though these pictures were taken in a bit cloudy afternoon it was still hot. Well, I can't have enough of this blouse, my current favourite. The skirt is not new too, and again, my almost-worn-everyday sandals. The blouse can be a pain, being linen and with my-hatred-towards-ironing, but it feels so nice on days like today, even thick linen feels much lighter than a (tight) cotton t-shirt or a synthetic blouse. Because despite my weather app on my desktop saying it's 22ºC today here, I am sure it was close to 30º earlier!

I was searching for a star print dress for ages when Emily showed me the wonders of ebay. I got hooked stalking star print dresses and in three days after deciding that ebay was the place to go to finally get a nice star print dress I had this baby with me. I don't know why it took me so long to post it but I guess special things usually stay unworn more often, I kept trying to find a special occasion to wear it, of course it didn't happen so I decided just to wear it.

In this outfit there's nothing new, old dress from H&M, though still one of my favourites. And sandals from last summer, they barely were worn then, so I'm making up for lost time and wearing them almost every day now.
Well here's my new hair. And now that I got it much shorter than I had I am still not very happy because it's too layered and may cut again a few cm more.

Oops. One more post from London. With my old hair. Yup, if you don't follow me on Twitter you probably don't know that I got a (drastic) haircut, but I'll disclose the results later for you to see! I promise to post some photos from here in my next post since it is now a week since I arrived, but first excuse me while I swim a bit in my aunt's swimming pool and enjoy the sun tomorrow, hehe.
I was so excited to find this little yellow dress in the same car boot sale where I got this hat. I have been trying to find a pretty yellow dress for a while and when I got this for only £2 I thought I was so lucky! Unfortunately, despite being my size, the dress was very uncomfortable when I tried it at home and only wore it enough time to take these pictures. Now it has been donated to the charity shop to make someone smaller than me happy and I will have to keep looking for the perfect little yellow dress...

Cat in the hat in the park

First things first, thank you all so much for your feedback on my last post. It is nice to know that some of you also may feel a bit like me in "younger" clothing choices but also do not care if you like it ;) Made me want to wear that dress more now hehe. Which I can probably do now, with no jacket included, since I am in Portugal now YAY!
I arrived here yesterday for a vacation and took the 6:30am flight. If you want some advice, don't take such early flights if you can (even though they're usually the cheapest ones!). I had no sleep since I had to leave my house in London at 2:30am in the rain (!), catch the bus, catch the train to the airport, catch a plane, get the metro at Porto to go to the train station, get a train to Coimbra and then walk a bit from the station to my grandparent's house. This all with no sleep and dragging a 20Kg suitcase and a very heavy carry on is not good. my arms are so so sore. But I am happy now I am in a real warm place with sun! (ok London was not so bad, only didn't stop raining all Sunday but Saturday was quite good). And I also got a new lipstick at the duty free in Gatwick, of course it had to be a red one ;)
Oh and these pictures were taken at Kennington Park in London, where is going to happen a Portuguese festival on the 12th of June, if you're interested (mainly if you're Portuguese living in London or nearby), it's the celebration of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities Day in the 10th (since it's only a bank holiday in Portugal there has to happen on Sunday so that's why it's on the 12th). Just across Oval tube station on Northern Line.

When I got this dress at my regular charity shop I adored it. Aren't we all tired of the shops being so full of floral prints? Although I do love my floral dresses and other items, it is refreshing to actually find something in a different and playful print. I adore this dress. But now that I wore it, I find myself thinking, isn't a mix of rainbows, hearts, smiley faces, radios, birds etc etc a bit to much for me? I mean, a bit too young, after all I'll be turning 24 in 2 months. I don't consider myself old or consider fashion to look a certain age, but it doesn't change the fact I still think this should be worn by a 13 year old instead of a 23... For now I'll keep wearing it but who knows if I'll be donating it soon. Do you ever feel the same?

So, we're already in June!! How fast the time goes huh? For me June usually means summer but in England you can't have much of it, at least what I am used to being summer. So I'll go to Portugal in a few days and actually enjoy a bit of summer weather (I hope!) :)
These pictures were taken on a stroll with Emily at Regents Park, on a very sunny day but of course the wind and cold breeze were present. But it is so nice that whenever the sun shines London's parks become crowded with people resting, playing, sunbathing or riding boats. We also went to the Sherlock Holmes museum store, full of cute souvenirs and at the entrance of the museum was a man with Sherlock's pipe and hat that you could put on and take pictures, needless to say that there was a tourist line to do that.

When I got this skirt a while ago I didn't even imagine its potential then. It was a cute, nice shaped skirt from H&M and on sale, I couldn't say no then, but I keep wearing it over and over again with so many different tops and shoes that I am now realizing how versatile it is, especially because of the colours of the print: light blue-ish grey and beige. I wore it with a neutral top here (the way I imagined I would wear it always when I got it), with a bright blue t-shirt here and now with a blouse in my favourite colour to wear, red. And I have imagined so many outfits with it that I haven't put together yet that makes me so glad that I got it back then. And also, people can say what they want about H&M, but it is my favourite place regarding skirts!

Blue with black

The combination of blue, especially navy blue, with black in the same outfit was something that I just wouldn't even think of doing when I was younger, in my teens especially. Just the sight of it in other would make me roll eyes (such a teenage habit isn't it?). And now, to prove even more that we are always changing our minds, including fashion wise, it's one thing that I keep wearing and wearing and loving. Now I don't believe that there are any colours that don't go well with each other (I don't like the term "match"), it's just a matter of which colours do I like and feel good in, and navy blue and black are two colours that practically rule my closet so they need to be put together!

Be it either denim cut-offs, denim non cut-offs, paperbag or bright colours, they're shorts and lets face it, I LOVE shorts. It's becoming an obsession really! I wear them in winter with tights too, but when this time between spring and summer arrives there is nothing more comfortable than shorts! I love my dresses and skirts, but I flashed my underwear with them, and never with shorts (yes, I'm blaming you wind for blowing my skirts!). So yes, here are some nice stylish girls wearing shorts, and I had to include Alexa Chung, for being the queen of shorts (I like her dresses and skirts too though!). Do you love shorts as much as I do?

Turning Tables

Today I had to dress formally to a meeting in the morning, which didn't leave me comfortable at all. So when I got home had to change into something more me and girly (keeping only the shirt from the previous outfit). I also tried to do my hair into heidi braids to accentuate the girly feel. Not a very good result though, so I ended up putting my hair in a side ponytail. Both this and the previous outfit make me look like a schoolgirl, but I am sure you can notice I actually like it. Remember this?

I usually don't smile on my pictures, or better, I don't smile showing my teeth hardly ever. But every time I say I don't like to do it people complain. Oh, I'm being bad, not complain, they say they don't understand why. So to those people (they know who they are ;) ) here are some silly smiles of mine! With a very 50's summer vibe outfit (minus the boots), one of my favourite vibes right now.

Oh and the only reason why I put the words silly shorts on the title because these shorts may be silly in two ways. First they cost me only 50p, second they're actually little girls shorts, not adults, but I like them anyway, or maybe even more for that! Kids vintage clothes are always good! Another silly thing in this outfit may also be the cost of the Moschino blouse, yes it's Moschino, yes it's silk, and it only was £2.

Double Polkadotting

Here's the outfit I wore to last post's afternoon tea and stroll in Camden. I think polkadot is the perfect tea time print isn't it? I find it much more appropriate and fun than flower print actually. And when I got this blouse in the charity shop I just knew I had to wear it together with the same charity shop bowtie. Which was one of the things that got me a stare from the charity shop seller, like a "Why the hell are you getting a little boy's or maybe clown's bowtie? Even if it costs only 50p?" stare. Well I guess I could say back if he actually asked me, "To wear with my polkadot blouse and have some tea, of course!".

Also, about my hair (!), I think it's quite visible in these pictures how it is a little bit lighter and more brown, though it should be reddish brown, and the colour depends on the light. For all the ones who asked some post hair dying pictures, here they are! Hope I'm not disappointing anyone ;)
