Brighton Rocks

Last Saturday I went down to Brighton and got probably one of the best and warmest days since I arrived in the UK over a year ago. I most likely wouldn't believe a British beach town could be as warm and suffocating in May as my infernal hometown in plain July, hello British humidity! Plus I got a sunburn even after applying SPF 50 on my face and 30 on my body (!) - that's how warm it was and how pale I am! Now the red is gone so I just have a brown square tan in my chest from walking around the city in my Orla Kiely dress. Even though I had a lovely day I didn't take many pictures (not that you guys would notice from the overload here) because, lets face it, heat and a camera round your neck all the time doesn't really work. I definitely want to go back and if the weather is as nice as I found it this time, who knows if I brave this bit of the Atlantic up north...

Orla Kiely dress
Zara denim jacket (that I own since 9th grade!)
Primark plimsoles

Swan families and rollerskaters

Last week, when it started to get really warm and the sun shining bright, I put on a skirt with no tights and strolled round Hyde Park with some friends, including Kirstin. We finally have some pictures together - hooray! Well, it was a super fun late afternoon that included watching swan families and acrobatic  rollerskaters. Anyway can you believe these pictures were taken around 7pm? The sun was still so high!

Prints and blocks

This is a bit far from what I've been wearing lately (at least during the day) as the lovely heat wave has only allowed me to wear short sleeves and little layering, apart from the occasional denim jacket. I am feeling a bit lazy to resize and edit pictures from the said warm days as I am a bit tired from enjoying them and also doing stuff with my boyfriend as his birthday is tomorrow! But I hope by Tuesday I'll start showing some of them. Hint: Includes a trip to Brighton and a nice afternoon in Hyde Park, amongst others :)
Now, tell me, what have you been doing in this lovely weather?

Tea at The Muffin Man

I had read about The Muffin Man in Penny's blog and it got me really curious to try it (I had had a previous and quite recent nasty experience of trying to find a place for tea/coffee in Kensington that ended up with a crappy and overpriced Cafe Concerto meal). So it seemed the right place to try when meeting Arianne, who was visiting London, and Kirstin in one recent afternoon. It's not a place to be super impressed about, it's quite simple (as for me I like simple) and it is nice, cosy and cheap when compared to the eateries in the area! Well, despite the yummy food, I had a nice time having interesting conversations with interesting people. It was really a fun late afternoon girls!

The world of Wish

I must be one of the last people to write about this and I'm sure most of you already saw Carrie's post, but last Sunday I was lucky to go to Wish Magazine's launch party. It was a nice and warm Sunday afternoon full of pretty and delicious food, knitting, stylish people wearing lots of dresses and flowers in their hair, nice smells and illustrations. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves and will just say I can't wait to get my copy of Wish in the mail (this week hopefully!). You can order yours too, from tomorrow!

I was wearing:
Zara mint dress
eBay ombré tights
Dr Martens mary janes
Vintage necklace
Swatch watch
Rimmel London lipstick in Alarm
Barry M nail effects nail polish in silver

Gingham, red, flowers and pearls

I have been trying to find a navy gingham shirt for so long and now I finally have it I have been wearing it almost every  day. This is one of the times I did. I find mixing prints super fun but I don't really like them to clash a lot against each other or for it to be very obvious so I really loved wearing this! I think this shirt and shoes will be paired together often this Spring and Summer (if it ever arrives in the UK I must say, though!). Now I also am wearing contacts every day! You probably knew this already if you follow me on Twitter though... Anyway, now I can wear sunglasses whenever I want and not be bothered about not seeing much, hooray!

Muji gingham shirt
H&M red trousers
Zara floral print t-bar flats
Kranichs pearl necklace
Cole Han sunglasses
(Also, my lipstick is Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple)
