Monki sailor

Appears that I have found the sailor dress that I have been dreaming of for several springs and summers. And in an unexpected place, too! Last Friday I went to the first Monki shop opening in London, in Carnaby Street, and for being one of the first 100 costumers I even got a £10 discount voucher. I had to wait in line for 30mins, which was less than I expected, but that was good. I regretted not taking my camera, because I could have taken pictures of some stylish girls over there! Anyway, it was fun observing people, and chatting with my friend while waiting.
I had gone with the intention of buying a bunting necklace that I had drooled over at the website, and maybe some black trousers or jeans, as I need some new pairs, but after trying some on and not being successful as they were either too long, too wide or too tight, (I hate shopping for trousers/jeans and if I don't find ones that I like on me quickly I give up immediately) I gave up. And when I saw this dress I fell in love. They have some nice and cute dresses but this took my heart, and it is perfect for Spring as it is such a nice cotton that I can wear freely. Of course it had to come home with  me, as did the bunting necklace!

Portobello Mews

It can be a funny as I post a very warm look from one of the coldest days of the year (it snowed in that evening!) in the warmest day of the year so far. But these pictures have been in my "to post" folder for too long and I didn't want them to wait any more, as I really like them! It was a bit of torture to walk around Portobello Road this day, as it was freezing and still full of tourists, but I had fun. We even passed some crazy undressed huge group of peeps celebrating New Zealand day, that gave us a laugh.
For now I will try to enjoy the Spring weather that hit England and make the most out of not needing to layer up! Although it's hard to cope with this warmth all of the sudden, it will be good as a prep for my upcoming travel, as I'll be going to warm Portuguese Madeira Island in about a week :)

Snippets of a nice Friday

I can honestly say that last Friday was one of the best days I've had lately. I first started by visiting the Motel sample sale, going on Thursday and Friday on their showroom on Great Portland Street, where I scored two dresses and one blouse, all for less than thirty pounds, that's a win if you ask me! Unfortunately the only Gemma dress to be seen there, was already in some girls hands, so it slipped away from me just in front of my eyes. I am not really that sad, since I wanted it in red and that one was navy, but still. I'll probably try and get one via eBay anyway ;)
I was quite happy with my morning bargains, but even more excited for the evening, where I went to meet Annebeth and some of her friends. We had dinner at Strada in Spitalfields and I got to check that she is as funny and gorgeous as she shows in her blog! Or not, actually she is even more, quite the amazing girl, personality and figure wise! She even convinced me to check Primark after showing us the amazing things she had gotten there earlier (and her friends' too!), and believe me, Primark at Oxford Street is one shop I always avoid at any cost unless it's really early in the morning and everything is super tidy. And like most of the people at the dinner table were bloggers, picture taking went on a bit too crazy, especially after the food arrived! Here are some snippets of the evening.

Nude lace and red vintage

Apparently the lining doesn't show on this dress all the time. Good thing, may not need to do anything about it, win! These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when I again, met Kirstin, this time in Brick Lane. Oh, good and cheapish food plus clothes and accessories and the chance of looking at stylish people... Isn't that an amazing thing? One of the many wonders of living in London :) Other wonders are sample sales and meeting lovely people, but more on that later.
The coat is vintage, another thing I stole from my grandma's house, whenever I go there, which is not very often unfortunately, I bring some clothes with me.

yKUaeV on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs

I wouldn't really care much about Valentine's day, we should show and share our love every day, isn't it? But it happens that it is actually not only Valentine's day, but also my relationship's anniversary too! Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 years now, love you babe! So here's a gif. to celebrate that! And as I can't be with him today, like I was last year, all I have is to look forward to be with him in just about two weeks.
Oh and I'll share this outfit soon, I took outfit pictures too, since Isla wanted to see more of the dress ;)
Anyway, happy Valentine's day!

One stalked item

I am aware that that stupid lining is showing and that the pictures are kind of horrible. But I don't really care. I had to show this dress. I drooled over it when I saw it in the H&M website, drooled over it when I saw it instore, and drooled even more when I saw Kater wearing it. Finally decided to stalk it on eBay when could no longer find it in neither of the previous drooling places. Lost the bid on the first one I saw, but the second one was mine for a mere £8!!

Pieces

Some pictures I took with my new camera. Since I got it I've been snapping often, almost a bit crazy-like some times. These are pieces from inside of my house and my life (studying and eating for example). I am planning to finally do a house post so you can see how it looks like!
 1. Heart shaped sparkler (that holds number 2)
2. Ladurée bag
3. Glittery nails
4. My bedside table book from a while a for a while
5. Yorkshire tea  in a gifted mug that a friend brought me from Dublin, and biscuits

Let it snow

Well, looks like I finally had my thoughts heard, we got some snow! It started snowing quite heavily last night and I couldn't pass the chance of enjoying it, especially since I was off work. So I met up once again with Kirstin and we had cupcakes and tea at the Hummingbird Bakery and then strolled from South Kensington through most of Kensington Gardens and Hyde park. What a sight! It was an absolute winter wonderland, and do not worry because I took so many pictures of the day, I am sure I'll share some of them in this space soon. Now most of the snow is melting, and I don't mind, because the one on the streets is mostly black slush now, unlike the perfect whiteness of the parks!
Oh and this is my new skirt from COS. I couldn't pass it up when I saw it at 70% off and it is the perfect swingy skirt with the perfect just-at-the-knee length!

Baby, it's (really, really) cold outside

Seems like we're having proper Winter around here after all. Bellow zero temperatures have graced London in the past days and today was possibly the coldest day I had in a long time. Like the cold wasn't enough, wind comes and makes it feel like it is -10C instead of -1C. Seriously, the only thing missing is snow. I really thought my ears were going to fall off before taking these pictures but then started to feel them again. And yes, the crazy things fashion/style bloggers do, like taking off our coats in these circumstances.
Well, enough talking about the weather. Let's talk about who inspired me in this outfit! As she usual does whenever she post about anything really. Erin of calivintage, of course! She has been such a great inspiration, especially on casual dressing, and, I do love her more glamorous outfits too, but there's something about Erin's way of doing casual wear that I just think it is the best ever and makes me drool over her looks, wanting to look the same effortlessly casual chic! So this morning, before Kirstin came over, I was going through my tumblr archive for some inspiration bliss and there it was, this look just speaks for itself really. I just have one thing to say, Erin, you rock! Now, I love being inspired by my favourite bloggers (which are too many to mention really), but copying something, like you sometimes see, it's not really something very challenging is it? Incorporating the hints you love about something and turn it into your own way is the best thing to use inspiration, imo. So here I am with what I think it's my way of doing the calivintage casual look, and, of course, trying to keep from freezing to death!
Now, honestly, can we finally get some proper snow around here?!
