Powder Blue

This was a hard outfit to put on. I started with wanting to wear the tights but every thing I paired them with didn't feel nice, so after a few trial and error missions I ended up with my Lefties velvet shorts and vintage powder blue blouse that was my grandma's. I think this is probably my second favourite vintage item that came from my grandma's closet, the first being this coat, due to the colour and retro shape. It's quite lovely. I also wanted to under-accessorize because red lipstick and bright pink nail polish are enough.

Things to Love: Books

Some of my favourite books, books that I have read, a book that I'm reading and a book that I have yet to read. And yes, I read both in Portuguese and in English and that's where I practice most of my English anyway, I never took a course if you're wandering, I learned English from (crappy Portuguese) school and from reading by myself.
Do you love books as much as I do? And if you had to chose a favourite book what would it be? I would love to know.

Feeling Spring-y

This outfit reminds me of Spring, mainly because this jacket, that I have for quite some time now, is something I put on mostly in this time of the year, when I feel it's no longer winter and it's almost spring. Funny how I wear it almost only in February, see it here and here and here.  Well it feels like Spring here, at Madeira, since the temperatures are always so nice, around 20ºC most of the time. But that's something I won't be experiencing by this time next week since I'll be in London then. This awful nice weather is one of the things I'll miss too much, but of course I'll miss my boyfriend more, and my kitty too.

Wandering, now in pictures

Here are the pictures of last Monday I promised in the video post. It was such an amazing day, and thank you for all your positive feedback on the video. I don't wear only blue, red or black. I actually really like wearing dark green too, but it's a colour difficult to find in stores. So this lovely floral dress from Zara (again, shocker!) was a great (half) of my Valentines/5 year anniversary present from the boy :D

Wandering [a video post]

Wandering on Valentines day from Raquel P on Vimeo.

Here's a little video shot at Valentine's day.  We had such a nice day, strolling and driving through the eastern part of Madeira. We ate a very nice lunch in the north town, Porto da Cruz and then went to the mountains to check a levada (water course/led) and the view .Then ended the day visiting Machico. A town with an artificial yellow sand beach (natural beaches at Madeira either have black sand or rocks). I assure you Madeira Tourism does not pay me to post about the wonders of this island, but I can't stop thinking how breathtaking are some of its landscapes and want to share it with you too :) Hope I don't bore you with these ramblings or with the amount of times I appear walking in the video. It was shot and edited by my boyfriend. So tell me what you think!

PS: I'll leave the outfit photos to another post, they exist, don't worry.

 I do not agree with the saying that to be stylish  or fashionable you have to suffer. I feel like my style is not compromised when I am feeling comfy and maybe I can say  that I have a comfortable style, if that makes sense. For example wearing my boyfriend's shirt all buttoned up with the perfect jeans, that I got at Zara a few weeks ago (first time I found a pair that actually fits me perfectly) and my Zara boots. I find it stylish and it was damn comfortable. This could be enough but I added some of my favourite accessories to this look, the ribbon makes it more girly and of course rings couldn't miss. Also, Sassy decided to make an appearance on this blog again, and wanted to be photographed too while my boyfriend was taking these. Please ignore her hair in my shirt. Isn't she the cutest cat?

Happy Valentine's day, if you celebrate it. If you don't, Happy Monday!

This is an important date for me and my boyfriend, not because it is Valentine's day but because it marks our 5th year together, it's our anniversary  :)

So I'll leave you with some outfit inspiration. I wanted to break out from all the red, pink and hearts that are so usual for this day but instead share some relaxed and cute outfits. I am wearing something similar to the first one today.
