Last Saturday, me and my family (minus my sister who has exams to study to) went on a little roadtrip to an hour-away-city, Aveiro. It is a lovely place, called the "Portuguese Venice" by some, where I've been going to since I was little, famous for its ovos moles (typical sweet made with eggs) and its canal. I got some pictures of the canal, but sadly, the ovos moles were too good and were devoured before I remembered photographing them. After a city stroll, lunch and some shopping (I got the matryoshka pin from last post and finally a lovely floppy hat!) we headed down south again, but this time through the coast, stopping in a lovely beach called Areão. Unfortunately we didn't think the weather would be as sunny and hot as it was that day and didn't bring any swimwear, because the beach was amazing, believe me.
So above you have pictures of what I was wearing that day, and below some shots I took on the trip.

H&M; The Garden Collection, dress
Vintage scarf, tied as a headband
Zara sandals
Handmade cat brooch, from my sister - gift from me!

Pretty dress;)
I adore the handmade cat brooch!
I'll try to do one of those :D

pronta para um bom passeio à tarde.

I am so happy to look at travel photos, it's great for armchair travel (I am a frequent flyer in my dreams). It looks like you had a lovely trip, so sunny! It's raining quite a bit in Manila right now so it's good to see summer weather on your blog.
As for my other-blog, it's only been up for a month or two so I didn't clog A + B in the Sea with, well, travel photos! It would be too much A and not enough B!
Ooh, I like this post (I always like travel posts, hehe). It really does look like Venice! Too bad you didn't go to the beach... although I've only been to the beach twice myself this year!
I love that little cat brooch!
P.S. I rambled a reply to your comment on my blog,hehe. ; )
lovely summery outfit. i love that you post things about your country because it fulfills my unhealthy obsession of portugal. its unfortunate you didnt get to go to the beach, but i do take your word for it!
really love your flowered dress!
And amazing outgoing pictures! It looks like an amazing place :)

This sounds like such a nice day...I love road trips, short or long, especially near the ocean, and I love seeing your photos of Portugal! The colorful print on your dress is so pretty. And now I want ovos moles because of course I had to Google them.
So much beautiful!
Lovely pictures! The dress is so lovely and the cat is so cute ^-^
@29 Skirts: Haha, fun that you googled the ovos moles, they're sooooo good!
@Michelle: Are you planning to come to Portugal sometime? To feed your obsession with it of course. ;)
love the shape of the dress and the amazing sandals, they are perfect with the dress! casual but still very stylish
Looks like a fun time : )
that little brooch is adorable x
It looks like such a picturesque city. The kitty brooch is adorable.
That cat pin is so cute. I have two cats and I'm a fan. The trip you took with your family seemed like a lot of fun. I love the feel of lazy beach towns
So cute the brooch of your sister!
ps)I think your shorter hair inspired you to wear scarves no? very nice!
@Penny: I think I got really into head scarves from seeing them frequently all over the blogosphere and also when Emily stayed with me since she wears them a lot. But it is definitely easier to put them right with shorter hair or the hair up, since whenever I tried it with my long hair I could never make it right.
@Monique: My sister is even a more cat lover than me so I got this pin for her at this trip since she had to stay home studying ;) glad it's being so popular! hehe
What a cute floral dress! And how pretty are your trip photos?
Chic on the Cheap
Aveiro looks like such a beautiful place! I would love to visit someday!

Oh yum! Ovos moles sound so good! And look so good (I looked them up, hehe)!
Your photos of Aveiro are beautiful. The boats moored along the canal certainly give it a Venice vibe.
That cat pin is adorable! :)
A weekend roadtrip sounds like the best things right about now (and especially with family). It really does look like Venice! And I am loving your floral dress and kitty pin. The perfect raodtrip outfit!
adoooorable dress, your hair looks lovely and I dig the simple sandals with it, supercute brooch too!
Wow, the place looked amazing! Too bad you werenet able to bring your swim stuff, the beach looked so inviting!! thumbs up for nice weather :)
Aveiro looks incredible! I went to Venice a few years ago, and as far as I can tell from the pictures you posted, Aveiro seems to have a similar sort of charm. I really love the statue of the woman holding flowers.
As for your outfit, seriously, could you be any cuter?? You are killing me with that cat brooch! <3
