Outfit Favourites: November

So I've decided to create a new feature on the blog: every month I'll post pictures of some of my favourite outfits from other bloggers. Set up a maximum of 10. It's not an original idea, but I think it gives a lot of inspiration, and it is also a way for me to save some of  the outfits I really like,  apart from tumblr. I'll try to post them on the last day of each month.
This month's pattern? Knits, for sure!
What's your favourite(s)?

PS: All pictures link to the original post in the text underneath.

And again, blouses and sweaters

Another outfit post, and a repeat. Yes, I totally meant it when saying that wearing sweaters with blouses would be a staple in my Winter wear. Again  my black jumper with a snakeskin print blouse that used to belong to my aunt (she's always giving me clothes!), thanks auntie! By the way, today it's her birthday. So Happy Birthday aunt Paula!!
Oh and about the shorts, yes, they're velvet, I wore them here but you couldn't see much of them. I am really loving velvet as well right now (I am loving lots of things, and not being able to get any..), anyway I have these shorts, and one blue velvet blazer (I guess I never showed it here, also given to me by my aunt), but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect velvet dress, preferably black.

Feeling Pretty, Dressing Pretty

I only wore this to go to my grandma's house, one street away from my father's house... And she was quite surprised with me  wearing heels and "painting my lips" red, haha! But I wanted to dress pretty and so I did! I am also wearing two items that belong to my sister again, the necklace and the shoes. Gosh I miss my closet, but this is actually making me to put more thought and reinvent what I have here. Oh and this may be my new favourite skirt, it's black, high waisted and has pockets!

Hand-me-down blazer and t-shirt (from my aunt)
Stradivarius skirt
Pull&Bear leather belt
Zara booties (my sister's)
Pandora necklace (my sister's)

PS: It's been freezing here since yesterday and I've only worn cozy and warm sweaters and jeans! So this outfit is actually from Wednesday!

The Shoes

I need, and want.
So here are the brogues I tried on at Zara the other week, and couldn't find the picture to put in this post. They're so comfortable and the right type for my knee problems. So, if I don't get them for Christmas or so, I'll get them after I start my job. But I'll tell more about that later. Here are also the boots I don't mind getting as well ;)

And a few looks with them.

Pictures via Zara's website, edited by me.

PS: I just created an inspiration blog today on Tumblr to, instead of saving my favourite (mostly outfit) pictures to my inspiration folder in my computer, save them there. I save disk space and get to share them! Check it here.

Lumberjack

Remember the lumberjack shirt I got for my sister in London? Well I get to steal it from her once in a while as long as I'm still here in Coimbra. And here's one way how I wore it. Again, sporting a beret to hide a messy hair, the best technique ever.
You can also see here one of the few things I don't like about Autumn and Winter seasons, it gets dark too soon, and when I remember to take pictures it's usually too late...

Lumberjack shirt: Primark (my sister's)
Velvet shorts: Lefties
Coat: H&M
Shoes: Parfois
Beret: H&M

When your hair is messy and you're in a hurry

Wear a hat. In my case, a beret ;)

I've been seen a lot in this type of outfits lately, just comfy and lazy. Well I am really enjoying sweaters, especially woolly ones, and also this shirt I got from H&M in London has been worn quite a few times as well. I guess shirts/blouses and sweaters will be my fall wardrobe staple? As well as hats and berets, they're nice in two ways, keep my head warm and hide a messy hair (which I've been sporting a few times as well lately), I need a new reshaping haircut, though I want to keep the length of my hair. I am also wearing two colours I am really into at the moment as well, and that are quite autumn appropriate, dark green and beige. Can't get tired of them!

Zara beige cardigan.
H&M green blouse and black beret.
C&A black pants.
Parfois flats (old, but not much worn).
Mango bag.
Flower ring used to belong to my aunt.
Models Inc. nailpolish in "Jermyn Street" (came with Glamour UK)

PS: you can see there's a Lidl just across my father's so whenever I want candies, or other type of food craving, it's just needed to cross the street, unfortunately!

Shoe Wishlist

Here's another wishlist of mine, shoes this time.
I have been having some knee problems due to wearing completely flat shoes all the time. This is starting also to show on my walk, I've been walking more and more with my feet open to the sides (hiperpronation) in a funny way, that's not good for my health at all. So to prevent joint problems I need to invest in shoes with at least 1cm heel (or higher). Here is a selection of my current favourite ones at Topshop and Zara. Of course I left two exceptions to heels, since I have lots of flats shoes and need to get used to wear heels once in a while. I also have been really into Chelsea boots for a while now, I think they'd be a perfect boot choice for winter, and the only ones I liked from all my web browsing where these Office ones. All of these are leather made, since I am also looking for good quality shoes.

All Topshop.

All Zara.
(I actually tried on a brogue shoe, very similar to the first brown Zara boots, this week, and they are amazingly comfortable, they're just not here because I couldn't find a picture of them on the website)

Yes I look like a school girl

And I like it!

Woot! Not wearing pants right? I haven't been wearing pants all the time, but whenever I get people to take pictures of me it happens I'm wearing pants. Well but not in this case! This was the first time I wore my new duffle coat from Zara! I fell in love with it since the moment I saw it on the website, that I visit at least once a day, and fell even more in love, if it's possible, when trying it on at the store! Though I didn't buy it due to the sopping ban still happening on my life. But my sweet sister, after seeing my sad face for not being able to get it, offered it to me as a late birthday gift since she wasn't with me in my birthday in August. I'm so happy! And if I was inspired by school uniforms after melting with smiles over British kids sporting theirs in London, this came to me as an incentive to wear this outfit, that was in my head for a while. Of course the braid accentuates more the child in me since my mother used to braid my hair a lot when I was a kid! Though I wish I could make better braids than this loose one haha!

Camel duffle coat: Zara
Plaid dress: Zara
Black wool sweater: Mango
Black tights: Zara
Black oxfords: La Redoute
Big black bag (again): Mango

Searching for Satchels

I found myself browsing the web and some stores and feeling really into satchels right now. Brown & leather are the main characteristics I am looking for. And also are an investment, since, if well treated, they can last a lifetime! Here are some of my favourites.

The Cambridge Satchel Company, 15" Vintage Brown Batchel, £90 (aprox. €106). Find it here.

Topshop Leather Piped Detail Satchel, £50 (aprox. €60). Find it here.

Two tone Cambridge Satchel Company 15" Batchel, via Asos, £112 (aprox. €132). Find it here.

Warehouse Leather Buckle Satchel Bag, via Asos, £85 (aprox.€100). Find it here.

H&M Leather messenger bag, £69.99 (aprox.€82).  Find it here.

I'm undecided about the first and second ones, though I might get the Topshop satchel  eventually (if it doesn't go out of stock) since I fell in love the moment I saw it on the website. It was probably the best for my bank account  that I didn't actually see it on Topshop last week haha. And I will be only allowed to buy things like these when I get a job ;) Oh and by the way, don't know if you know, but Topshop just started shipping to Portugal a few weeks ago!

Emily and Raquel in London, part 2

So as I've told previously, I got to meet Emily, from Ruby Slipper Journeys, again in London, on Thursday afternoon, after my appointment. We hung out in Soho, picked up some red velvet cupcakes from The Hummingbird Bakery (is it blogger meet-ups rule? we just found that one by accident hehe!), took some pictures at Chinatown, ate the cupcakes at Trafalgar Square and walked down till the Buckingham Palace. It was a nice afternoon, as the morning was as well, and I'm so glad we could do this! Meeting bloggers in real life can be a bit awkward, but then again, I feel like I've known some of you lovelies for a long time! And Emily was as sweet and easy going as I'd thought she would be, as I told before, but I can't get tired of saying how nice it was to meet her.

*Again, pictures of me by Emily, pictures of both of us from another lovely person who asked if we wanted to take a picture of us.
Also, I know I wasn't dressed in my usual kind of way (well actually I've been wearing lots of pants, but that's because I only have two (knitted) dresses and one skirt with me :/ all my dresses are at Madeira) but also that appointment I went to required a more formal wear, so I went for classy all black with breton stripes look ;) I also kept putting on and getting off a black beret due to bipolar weather (it was quite a sunny day!)

PS: those cupcakes were yummy!

London's Buys

Here's what I brought from my short trip to London, not too many things since I'm still in a shopping ban (you couldn't figure that right?)

H&M khaki green see through blouse, £7.99.
I wanted one in white as well but didn't find it. Oh and sorry for the wrinkles, I wore it inside a cardigan...

H&M polkadot shirt/blouse, £3 (sale!)
Couldn't resist polkadots for £3!

Primark plaid flannel shirt, £8.
I actually got this one for my sister, but I'll be able to steal it once or twice while I'm still in Coimbra ;)
Will try to get one for myself as well since it is so pretty, warm and cheap!

Barry M Nail Paints in Mint Green and Mushroom, £2.75 each (the only thing I brought from Topshop :O )
I've been wanting these two colours for ages and finally got them!

H&M wool black beret, £4.99

You may be thinking, doesn't she have H&M back home? Well, yeah in Coimbra we have one, but most items I want don't come here, and also I've told here before how Madeira doesn't have an H&M (though I don't know when I'll be back there), so I couldn't miss these things ;) Also when converting £ to €, it is actually cheaper to buy H&M in the UK than in Portugal!
