The Sweetest

Usually the store I like most of the stuff  when I get in is always Zara. But I have to say that the other Inditex chain stores are surprising me! I would not get into Bershka because in a whole store I'd probably only like one or two things, the same with Stradivarius, and Pull&Bear usually had some pretty stuff but most used to be very tomboy-ish for me. This changed, I actually see myself getting into those and being surprised on how much items I like there! And last week I was actually stunned by Pull&Bear A/W collection! So I thought it was worth posting my favorites here! If you like brogues, peter-pan collars, bunnies. horses, birds and candy prints I think you'll enjoy this sweet collection.

So this is what I actually wore in my birthday day. I've had this dress for a while and only got to wear it once. It is so cute that I thought it would be a nice choice as a birthday outfit! Anyway, in the evening I changed because it was a rather windy day and got tired of having to secure my dress all the time and put on some shorts and t-shirt to go to the movies. By the way, I watched Inception and it was great! Have you seen it? What do you think?
The photos on top were taken at Lido area in Funchal, The ones down here were taken by Funchal's port.
Oh it was also the first time I got to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend, since we were always apart during August, so it was lovely! :)

Twenty Three

Photobucket
Well it's my birthday today, twenty three, yes! I fell kinda old, but as my boyfriend says, if we don't look old... :) So I got myself two pairs of black sandals as a birthday gift to myself. First because my very worn H&M gladiators got ruined (a strap broke) when I was jumping to run from a water leak in the street, so I had to get a new pair of black flat sandals, they're a summer basic. I raided Zara and found a pair for only 10€ (down from 30€)! About the other pair, I have been eying Swedish Hasbeens for a while (the only type of wooden soled shoes I could wear), but they're too way out of my price range (still unemployed uh...), and when I saw these babies I am wearing here, for also 10€ and also down from 30€! In my size!! That is 38 by the way and the first to ever disappear!! Two pairs of sandals for 20€, saving a total of 40€, I'm happy!
On another note, don't you just love to get birthday and Christmas presents for yourselves? I know I do!

A tourist in your own place

My aunt was visiting for a few days till today, and I spent most of the time touring her and her husband through the island. Here are some pictures of day one, a chance to show you my new "free" dress from Westrags and also for you to see some beautiful things this island has to offer!

Like List

It's my birthday in exactly one week. So I thought of, instead of doing a wishlist, to just post about things that I don't really need, but that I find lovely and wouldn't mind getting for my birthday!!
Chambray Shirt. This one is from Levi's, via asos.com
Black Wedge Sandals. These are from Aldo.
Water bottle. Because I always carry a plastic one around, which gets damaged really fast, so a stainless steel one would be a better and environment friendly option! This one is from Modcloth.
Basic t-shirts and tops. Because I see my wardrobe full of dresses and not with many variety of tops to wear with my skirts and shorts. This basic white tee is from asos.com
Casio watch, silver or gold edition, I like both! Buy these at amazon.co.uk
Khaki shorts.Even better if highwaisted! These are from westrags.pt
Vegetarian cookbook. No. I'm not a vegetarian. But I'd like to learn more about how to prepare and season vegetarian dishes!!Buy this at amazon.co.uk
White hat. OK, this I really need (or a beige one), due to the amount of sun I get in Madeira (been going to the beach since April and must continue to go at least till September!!). So if nobody gets me one, I will have to get it myself. This one is from westrags.pt

So it seems I'm fond of lot of things! So birthday at August 17th, in case you would like to know. haha! ;)

Note: Every image links back to the original source, since none of these are mine.

I Won!!

You might know if you follow me on Twitter, I won a free dress!
Well, I'll explain. Westrags is a Portuguese online store that has been offering 100% off selected items to their facebook fans, for the past 3 weeks (one chance per week, with about 1000 items). Well since this was actually the first week that I got to catch the 100% off items on time (the other weeks, when I got there they were already out of stock!!) and it was also the first week that I really liked the 100% off items. Since this opportunity is limited to one piece for costumer, and I was really undecided between this dress and the one you see in the images. All I knew was that I wanted a white dress, so my boyfriend gave me some help and I ended up getting this one (it had to be really fast, a couple of minutes later and both of dresses were sold out!). Oh and I also got mine one size bigger, because my size was the one the models of the website, who are way skinnier than me, were wearing!
So guess what came in the mail today?? Yes, my dress, two days after the order, and one day after the payment was ready. Yes because I had to pay the shipping costs. That are quite expensive for the Portuguese Islands when comparing to the prices for the mainland... Well they were really fast sending it so that is a subject for other ramblings... Anyway, despite having to pay almost 10€ of shipping costs, I'm really happy with my dress, it's really lovely, and I might be wearing it this weekend, after ironing of course, so outfit shots soon, I hope!

PS: sorry for the wrinkly photos, but I took them almost right after taking it out of the package, the dress looks so much better irl, I assure you!
PPS: I also won another giveaway, so I might be getting new and free stuff next week in the mail :)

Have a nice weekend!
